Hello everybody, welcome to my blog. Let me introduce my self my name is Friska Natalia Sihotang. I'm from Medan, but now i live in Pekanbaru to continue my education. I graduated from Budi Murni-2 senior high school in medan major of social. About my family, My mother is a teacher in one of junior high school in Medan her name is Sastria Sembiring And my father is a retired of employees in Adam Malik hospital in Medan his name is Naik Sihotang. I have 2 brother, first is Bryan Matheus Sihotang. He is now working at estate agency as the employee in medan and my second brother is Adi Agustin Agustin now he continue his education in Pelita Nusantara College major of computer engineering.
Now i'm studying in Lancang Kuning university in Pekanbaru major of English Education Department, i choose it because i love to learn english and want to be a profesional teacher and make an english course in my future. I know Lancang Kuning University from my uncle, he stay in Pekanbaru. I tried test of SBMPTN 2016 but i'm not qualification so my uncle suggested me to Lancang Kuning University.

Article Review About Syntax
Hello everybody, I'm Friska Natalia Sihotang. So this is my first blog. I was born December,02nd 1998. Now i continue my education at Lancang Kuning University in Pekanbaru,Riau. So i will tell my review article about Syntax, and i took the source from ilmubahasainggris.com article for my assignment of introduction of Linguistics. I choose that article because i think it is a good article.
The first we will discuss about Linguistics. What is Linguistics? Generally, Linguistics is the scientific study of language and Lingistics has some branches, and one of them is Syntax.
What is Syntax?
syntax is a branch of linguistics that studies the rules that determine how words form phrases and phrases to form sentences. Etymologically the term syntax arranging the words into sentences and groups of words or groups of words into sentences.
There are two parts of a sentence that is very important in analyzing the syntax, those are: phrases and clauses
1. Phrase
Phrase is a group of words that has a function as a unit in a sentence (a group of words that form a grammatical unit). Phrase is divided into several, those are :
- Noun Phrase : is a phrase derived from nouns that serves as the subject or object of the sentence examples :
1) The Doctor

2) A beautiful girl
det adjective noun
- Verb Phrase : is a phrase consisting of a combination of auxiliary verb with a verb examples :
Binar has taken the job.

He has been coming late everyday.

- Adjective Phrase : is a phrase that comes from the adjective used to qualify the nouns or pronoun example :
Tony lost his dark brown briefcase.

- Adverbial Phrase : is a phrase that functions as an adverb used to describe a verb example :
Mika usually gets up early.

- Prepositional Phrase : is phrase that describe of proposition a sentence example :
The book on the bathroom floor is swollen from shower steam.

- Independent Clause : is a clause that has a complete structure and potentially a major sentence.
- Dependent Clase : is a clause which has a uncomplete sentence, usually accompanied by elements of subordinating conjunctions.

So, Syntax is one of branches of Linguistics
